OVERVIEW
Your Will takes care of your loved ones

At Metropolitan we understand how important it is to protect your family when you are no longer around. That's why we offer an easy and secure way to set up your will.

What is a Will?

A will is a binding expression of your wishes. It determines what must happen to your assets and provides protection for your family when you are no longer there.

It is an important document and must be reviewed annually or when your circumstances change. If, for example, you get married or have children.

Why is a Will important?

The process to wind up an Estate can be complicated without a will. Getting your Estate resolved requires an Executor to be assigned.  Your bank accounts and assets are frozen until the Estate is finalised which places your family under severe financial stress.

Why you should have a Will

Knowing your family is taken care of

Take care of your family, especially children and other dependents such as parents, by putting your wishes on paper if you are no longer there to take care of them personally.

Property and assets

A will ensures that your property, financial assets, and money are managed in a proper manner.

A will is an important part of an overall estate plan and can help to ensure that your assets are distributed according to your wishes and avoid any disputes or confusion.

Avoid delays in winding up your Estate

Approximately 70% of people who die in South Africa don’t have a will. The process to wind up an Estate can be complicated without a will. Getting your Estate resolved requires an Executor to be assigned.

Without a will, there is a backlog of Estates being assigned to Executors by the state.
